Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is recognized as one of the oldest forms of manual medicine. Massage therapy focuses on treating the musculoskeletal system when there are changes to its structure or function causing the patient pain.
Relaxation Massage
Relaxation massage is not just gently massaging the skin with oils. To help the body more efficiently de-stress a RMT is trained in neurology and understands how to help the body let go of its' stress more effectively. It is your body; keep it in knowledgeable hands
Infant Massage
There are many studies that support the importance of touch for our children during their development. Colicky babies and asthmatic children benefit greatly from massage therapy and especially osteopathy. Your therapist must possess a strong knowledge of childhood diseases and the rapidly developing anatomy of the child.
Sports Massage
Your therapist uses many Swedish techniques; however, the primary focus is on athletic injury, the breakdown of scar tissue and remedial exercise instruction. Your therapist must have knowledge of the body and its biomechanics.
Aromatherapy
Many studies have validated the effects of plants and their essences on the body. Your therapist will use very specific essential oils to treat the condition you come in with, such as, stress, common cold, headache, constipation, etc.
Your body is massaged with specific essential oils that contain the healing property from specific part of a plant whether its' petals, roots or leaves. The essential oil assists in the body’s natural healing process.
Reflexology
Reflexology is the treatment of your body through your feet. This is one of those amazing treatments that everyone should have at least twice a year. Perhaps your birthday and Christmas would be a nice time for you. Image your feet being kneaded and massaged and all the stress of the year melting away.

Advanced Manual Therapy (AMT)
ATM is a form of manual medicine and is ideal for balancing your structure (posture) and promoting your function (movement ). When your function or structure is out of balance you will most likely have pain. It is the goal of the therapist to determine the root cause of your pain and to develop a treatment plan that addresses the tissue that is implicated as the primary source of the problem. To accomplish this deed your therapist must possess a vast knowledge of your nervous, vascular, lymphatic and musculoskeletal systems.
Ultimately, AMT focuses on improving your wellness so that you heal better, helping you develop a stronger constitution so that you can confront future illness with greater immunological tenacity.

Cranial Sacral Therapy
This therapy is a gentle technique used to eliminate adhesions that have developed in the body from previous injury. Injuries to the head or body cause surrounding soft tissues to become distorted and cause pain. Cranial Sacral therapy addresses the bony and soft tissue imbalances causing this pain.
Sometimes a lesion can be found that developed from the birthing process and the body has been trying to unsuccessfully adapt over many years.

Visceral Therapy
Viscera are the cavity of your abdomen where most of your vital organs reside. When the fascia surrounding these organs becomes distorted you can suffer visceral dysfunction. This can occur in cases of chronic stomach pain, constipation, as in fascial release, visceral release is extremely effective in releasing the distorted fascia and returning the affected organ back to a state of wellness.

Somato-Emotional Therapy
Somato-emotional therapy focuses on removing emotional cysts that develop as a result of repressed emotional traumas. An example of this type of trauma could be something as innocuous as falling from a playground apparatus as a child and witnessing (feeling) your friends laugh as you attempt to hide your pain due to embarrassment.  We have a tendency to heal quickly from the physical trauma of these accidents, however, the emotional trauma remains and can contribute to ill health.

Myofascial Release
“Myo” refers to muscle. Fascia refers to a layer of tissue that wraps within and about the muscles, bones, vessels and organs. This sheet of fascia can become taut and distort. It than restricts the tissues it is within or about which does permit these tissues to perform at an optimum level and hence you will have ill health in that particular tissue. When we release the fascia we are freeing up the restriction and assisting the tissue back to wellness.

Lymphatic Therapy
Lymphatic fluid, vessels and nodes make up a major part of your lymphatic system. This system is responsible for removal of excess fluids from body tissues, absorption of fatty acids and the subsequent transport of fat and the production of lymphocytes which are an important part of your immune system. Lymphatic therapy assists in circulating these substances which aid in your disease fighting wellness.

Nutrition Therapy

Nutritonal therapy is now recognized as a key to  treating your pain.

Is your pain due to a build up of acids in your body? Changing your diet from one of acid-based foods to alkaline-based foods can assist in reducing or eliminating your arthritic type pain.

Metabolic Dominance

Are you eating the right foods? And, I don't mean for your blood type. I am refering to whether or not you are eating foods that act more like acids or alkalines in your body. Take a metabolic dominance questionairre and discover your bodies metabolic dominance.

Children’s, Teen’s, Adult’s and Senior’s Nutrition Check-up
At each stage of our lives our bodies require a specific amount of nutrients. I will analyze your current food plan and make some changes to suit your age, weight, culture and activity level.

Detoxification Programs
The best way to detox and clear yourself of toxins that build up in your tissues is to fast. Let me analyze your current food plan and create a safe and effective food plan that allows your body to rid itself of old toxins and be replenished with fresh and vibrant cells.

Weight Loss Programs
Now here’s a bonus. When you do a detox program you will loose weight. Initially most of this weight loss is water, however, with a program that includes exercise, neuro-linguistic programming and a balanced food plan you will take off the unwanted pounds you do not need.

We also provide a lymphatic drainage treatment that has shown significant results in weight reduction and the removal of excessive water or adipose formation on the body.

Exercise

Remedial Exercise

All Gibvey therapists include exercise as part of your treatment plan. We believe that movement is a key ingredient in helping you to heal your pain and improve your cellular metabolism.

Athletic Musculoskeletal and Posture Assessment
Need an edge! Steve Hough, RMT  will point out improvements you can make in tight and weak muscle systems.

Health and Fitness Assessment

This is the Canadian Fitness Test. Steve will determine you’re your body fat composition, cardiovascular and musculoskeletal health and lifestyle analysis.
In addition, all Gibvey therapists suggest various exercises to strengthen or stretch those areas that are contributing to your health concern.
